Volume Interactive is proud to announce a new collaboration with the historians and patrons of the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail — one of the most important historic travel routes in the early development of the American frontier.
The trail follows the path first explored and opened by Daniel Boone, stretching from East Tennessee through Virginia and into Kentucky. This route helped guide thousands of settlers westward through the Cumberland Gap and played a central role in the early migration that shaped the Appalachian frontier.
In recent weeks, Volume Interactive has been working behind the scenes to restore and reorganize the trail’s digital presence. Lost domain names and website files were recovered and rebuilt, bringing the project back online and creating a stronger foundation to tell the story of this remarkable historic corridor.
Looking ahead, the next phase will focus on creating a modern mobile experience and an automated driving trail application. Visitors will soon be able to follow the route by car, explore historic sites along the way, and discover the people, places, and events that shaped the early frontier.
This project celebrates an important part of our region’s heritage, and we’re honored to help bring it back to life.
A full relaunch is planned for this summer — and we encourage everyone to check back soon to explore the trail. 🌄🚗
