Last Thursday, we had the opportunity to spend some time in Downtown Kingsport photographing the retirement celebration of Danielle Glasscock, who has served as Director of United Way of Greater Kingsport for the past 15 years.
It was a meaningful afternoon—not just because of the milestone, but because of the people in the room.
During her time as Director, Danielle helped lead efforts that raised more than $50 million to support those in need across the Greater Kingsport area. As was shared during her introduction at Taylored Events, her work was never just a role—it was a mission.
And that mission was clearly reflected in the company she kept.
The room was filled with business leaders, community advocates, and long-standing supporters of United Way—people who consistently show up, invest in others, and help move this region forward. These are the kinds of relationships that don’t happen overnight. They’re built over time, through trust, consistency, and a shared commitment to something bigger than any one organization.
For us, it was a reminder of how much of Kingsport’s strength comes from people working together behind the scenes.
Not just the recognition of one person’s career, but the broader network of people who continue to support, lead, and invest in this community every day.
As Danielle steps away from her role, Josh Mullins steps in—joining a strong support team and a community that has long stood behind the mission of United Way. It’s a solid foundation, and an important one.
At Volume Interactive, we value being connected to organizations and individuals who are actively shaping the future of this region. The work of United Way—and the people who support it—is a clear example of what that looks like when it’s done right.
Thank you, Danielle, for your leadership and service to Kingsport.
